At Wooded, we are inspired by the contrasts of nature and a love for the kitchen. So we've grown our shop to bring our unique creations from the Cape to you.
Wooded is a crossroads of passions; for the kitchen, wood, and the places where art and utility meet.
Our journey began in the kitchen as a young couple, newly arrived in New England, spending weekends cooking dishes that made us joyful and connected to the flavors of our home-places across the country. As we built up our new kitchen and honed our cooking craft, our penchant for nifty tools led us to a transformative upgrade — a properly sharp Chef's Knife.
From there, our disappointing plastic cutting board came into focus, and set off a years-long adventure, from two corporate jobs to our homegrown wood shop. Here, we seek to bring the joy of wood to the masses; the satisfaction of a great chop over a sturdy, handcrafted block of hardwood. The utility of a board built to sustain decades of use, and the art that nature locks deep into the grains of wood.

We're based on Cape Cod, a place with a deep history of rugged craftsman and creative artisans. We are inspired to continue that legacy with rustic, utilitarian art inspired by the textures and patterns of nature.

We believe that nature's brush strokes in wood grains are beautiful works of art, and find inspiration in expanding upon them. And we find even more joy that these durable creations are foundational tools for culinary masterpieces.
End-grain, always
We are opinionated that end-grain boards are simply better for chopping. They are more pleasant to use, stand up better to wear and look better. So, those are the only kind of cutting boards we make.
Built to last
We believe in simple, classic quality, and for cutting boards... it's all about how hefty your piece is. We build all of our boards thick to resist warping, cracking, sliding around and feeling sad and flimsy.
